The first leg of my Africa journey will begin in Capetown, South Africa, in May 2023 and will lead me, and occasionally company (including Nancy!), north through the inland of south and east Africa — extending across the length of South Africa and Botswana, then across the northern portion of Zimbabwe, then across the length of Zambia and western Tanzania, and finishing across the southwestern portion of Kenya — ultimately ending in Nairobi, Kenya in September 2023.
My route will focus on visiting national parks and reserves in each of the six countries in an effort to experience the varied landscapes and wildlife found in the inland portions of south and east Africa, and hopefully to also get a “taste” of the diverse African cultures found along the way. Subsequent legs of my African journey will focus on the east and west coasts of Africa.
